How to Learn English by Watching Movie

Hi met again with me Indra Negara. This time I want to share how to learn English by watching movies. Ok here we go :D

1. Preparation

First prepare the first aspect of our listening skills to be learned. For example, we want to learn vocabulary, means that we must attention to the word-for-word in the film.

If you want to expand the ability to understand spoken English. You have to attention to how the pronunciation or the pronunciation of the players in the film. Therefore specify which case we want to learn.

2. Select the Movie

Once you know what you want to learn, begin to choose what movie you want to watch. Choose the way the story is not complicated and we can find on the recommendation of what a good movie to learn. You also can choose your favorite movie this makes us more comfortable to learn.  

3. English Subtitle

Select a movie that uses English subtitles, subtitles will help you expand the new vocabulary that you will learn. Search also Indonesian subtitle, why we also have to use the subtitle Indonesian? because this subtitle is used as a comparison for English subtitles. So no need to bother to use a dictionary to translate English vocabulary. So, in the film will feature two different languages, one Indonesian and one in English. If you have trouble set the movies you watch can display two languages, you can use a specific application that will help you. Then download subtitle movie would you watch on a special website subtitle provider of various films.

If you feel able, try to interpret a specific part of the movie you're watching. After that, you try to compare your translation results with Indonesian subtitles in the film.

   4. Listening

Take a note the new words you see and look for meaning. note the movies one by one. If you want to learn pronunciation. We recommend that you rotate the part for several times. So you can understand how the pronunciation and writing vocabulary. If you think you do not understand there is a part in the movie, stop the movie and play back at the back of the film, so and will focus on the spoken word.

       5. Invite your friends

Invite your friends to join your study together. You and your friends can be a discussion about the theme of the film. Even your friends can help you, if you have difficulty in understanding the film.

6. After watching

When finished watching a movie. Write the storyline, the movie player character, and moral values in the film. You can write all this in English to train you, if still difficult to try to advance in Indonesian.

       7. Evaluation

Don’t forget to do the evaluation study. Think about what your English language skills current. Then compare, like what used to be your ability to speak English, especially in terms of listening and vocabulary.
